Brie Larsons call for diversity in Film Critics

During her speech at Wednesday Nights Women in Film Crystal + Lucy Awards in Los Angeles she pointed out the lack of female film critics by saying “I don’t need a 40-year-old white dude to tell me what didn’t work about A Wrinkle in Time,” Larson said. “It wasn’t made for him! I want to know what it meant to women of color, biracial women, to teen women of color.”

According to the USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative out of all the film critics that reviewed this years top box-office movies, 80% were male. This is a shocking! Lots of room for change
